At its best, your mind is your most reliable source of pleasure. At its worst, it won’t leave you in peace.

It can feel counterintuitive to try to stop ‘overthinking’ or ‘intellectualising’, when intellectual work is your bread and butter, and thinking is one of your chief delights.

But you might be burning out. You might feel trapped by relentless perfectionism, chronic disappointment, or corrosive envy. It may be hard to know how to start or finish meaningful projects.

And the challenges don’t end at work. You may feel isolated, or struggle in your relationships. There are social penalties to growing up gifted, which may manifest in your adult life as low self esteem, impostor syndrome, or social anxiety.

I’ve worked for over 20 years with researchers, writers and knowledge workers - people whose livelihood depends on intense cognitive and creative work - and I have a deep understanding of the joys and challenges of an active mind. I also know what it’s like to work in competitive, high-pressure environments.

Much of the psychological help available doesn’t fit the mind you have. You may not feel guided by a gut instinct. You may not feel emotions in your body, and you may not be able to put words to them.

My aim is to help you find more flow and ease in areas of your life where you are held back by perfectionism, overwhelm, anxiety and decision paralysis, without requiring you to believe anything that doesn’t make sense to you.
